Although our wine list may be primarily Italian- we are after all an Italian Wine Bar-we love our local wine makers.
On Monday April 11^th we’ll come together with Prince Edward County’s Norman Hardie for an interactive night of local wines and Roman inspired cuisine.

Our intention for this evening truly reflects the things we at Enoteca Sociale hold most dear; pleasure, community, and the merging of two cultures to create a unique picture.

Wine is a mystical beverage. No matter how we in the industry may try to nail it down with hard facts, it proves to be pure magic. Between the vineyard and the bottle, there is nature. We can only hope to support the natural process therein and not interfere too much.
Norm does this very well. He lets nature work her magic in carefully selected soils and then finishes the product the way you would season a delicate dish, with a careful hand and some creativity.

For those of us that love wine, it’s interesting and fun to collect tidbits from behind the scenes, learn a little about how grapes make it from the vine to the glass and what makes wine taste the way it does.
We can learn about the different grape varieties, the impact of climate and what oak imparts.
Norm is going to introduce us to these concepts while we sip and enjoy.

Most interesting is how wine interacts with food and how one plays off the other.
Chef Rocco has designed a menu for this evening around a selection of Norm’s wines. The menu is rooted in a desire to merge homegrown flavours with those of Italy in a delicious and inspiring way.

We’re excited to invite you, our friends and neighbours to enjoy this evening of eating, drinking and chatting with us.
We hope to share with you some of our enthusiasm for the great wine that’s being made right here in our own backyard.
